GMR -  Geometric Mean Radius - quantifies a conductor’s internal inductance. By definition the GMR is the radius of an infinitely thin tube having the same internal inductance as the conductor out to a one-foot radius. GMR is often in feet to ease the calculations with distances measured in feet. Note that the GMR is less than the actual conductor radius.
