Dynamic (Absolute) Viscosity - Converting Chart

Fluid viscosity is an important property in the analysis of liquid behavior and fluid motion near solid boundaries.

The viscosity is fluid resistance to shear or flow and is a measure of the adhesive (cohesive) or frictional properties of a fluid. The resistance is caused by inter-molecular friction exerted when layers of fluids attempts to slide by an other.

Example - Converting Dynamic Viscosity from centipoise to lb/ft s

From the table above - to convert from centipoise(cP) to lb/ft s - centipoise must be multiplied with 0.000672.

10 centipoise can then be converted like

(10 centipoise) 0.000672 = 0.00672 lb/ft s
