Globe Temperature
The Resultant Temperature, also called the Globe Temperature, can be used as a more representative measure of temperature comfort than air temperature alone.
The Globe temperature can be calculated
tg = 0.5 tmr + 0.5 ta (1)
where
tg = globe (resultant) temperature (oC, oF)
tmr = mean radiation temperature (oC, oF)
ta = air temperature (oC, oF)
Globe temperatures can be measured with acceptable results in the centre of black globes with diameters ranging 25 - 150 mm.
