Bio Ethanol Production - Raw Materials
Raw materials used for Ethanol Bio-fuel production.
Ethanol can be used as an gasoline extender in "gasohol" - which is
- petrol (gasoline) with up to approximately 25% ethanol
Ethanol can be produced by fermenting different raw materials. The ethanol yields for some typical used raw materials are indicated below
Material | Ethanol Yield | |
---|---|---|
(literethanol / kgraw_material) | (literethanol / m2land_area) | |
Cassava roots | 0.18 | 0.05 - 0.4 |
Maize grain | 0.36 | 0.03 - 0.2 |
Sugar cane stalks | 0.07 | 0.04 - 1.2 |
Sweet potato roots | 0.12 | 0.1 - 0.5 |
Wood | 0.16 | 0.02 - 0.4 |
