EN 10226 - Pipe Threads where pressure tight joints are made on the threads - Dimensions
Pipe threads where pressure tight joints are made on the threads - Part 1: Taper external threads and parallel internal threads.
EN 10226 threads with 55° angle between the flanks and a connectable root favours sealing.
Note that EN 10226 has replaced BS 21 and ISO 7.

In order to seal the conical external thread connects with the cylindrical mother screw. The connection don't guarantees sealing - so a sealant should be used.
Symbols used for type of pipe thread
- R - external taper pipe thread
- Rp - parallel internal pipe thread
Example - Designation of Threads
- External taper thread: Pipe thread EN10226 R 3/4
- Internal parallel thread: Pipe thread EN10226 Rp 3/4
