Relative humidity (RH) should be within certain limits for controlling health aspect:
- Bacteria, 30 - 60% RH
- Viruses, 50 - 70% RH
- Fungi, less than 70% RH
- Mites, less than 70% RH
- Respiratory infections, above 40% RH
- Asthma, close to 50% RH
- Chemical interactions, less than 40% RH
- Ozone production, above 75% RH
In general relative humidity for human comfort ranges 30 - 60% RH.
